Happy Facts - Animal Edition Part 2

I collected so many fun animal facts that I had to create a part 2! Plus, today is national wildlife day, so Here are some more facts about animals including dolphins, penguins, goats, and more! Which do you think is the coolest?

Dolphins give each other specific names.

In 2006 researched discovered that dolphins give each other "names" with unique whistles.

Gentoo penguins propose to their mates with a pebble.

Turns out humans aren't the only ones to use rocks as a symbol of their devotion to one another.

Goats have accents.

Their distinct accents help them quickly identify other goats that are part of their own group.

Bats sing love songs.

These songs even have melodies and rhythms!

Emus cannot walk backwards.

I read this on a Snapple cap, and thought it was interesting. No one really knows why the second-largest bird in the world can't walk in reverse.

A group of porcupines is called a prickle.

I don't think there could be a more fitting name for this!

Octopuses gather shiny things and make gardens out of them.

It turns out Ringo Starr's song, Octopus's Garden, was based in reality.

Positive Thinking Day - Doggyland Affirmations

 A few important things I need you to know:

1. Today is positive thinking day.
2. Snoop Dogg created a children's TV show.
3. This show has a song called "The Affirmations Song" and it is wonderful.

Even though it's geared towards kids, I think it has a message that applies to people of all ages. Plus it's really catchy. Give it a listen to help inspire positive thoughts about yourself today.

Kids Being Kids

In my opinion, children are some of the best comedians, and they don't even realize it half the time! Here are some kiddos that will be sure to put a smile on your face.

Max the Cat

Back in May, Vermont State University granted Max the Cat an honorary doctorate in "litter-ature." Apparently, the tabby has been a fixture on the campus for about five years. The friendly feline has made friends across campus including students and the Dean! 🐈🎓

Dog and Owl

You know I love my animal pals! I think seeing unlikely friends is one of the most wholesome things. Plussssss, today is National Dog Day, so a post that features a dog seems appropriate.

This isn't a new story, but it's one I just discovered recently, and I just HAD to share. Several years ago, photographer Tanja Brandt (Instagram: tanja_brandt) took a series of photos featuring a dog and an owl that are friends. It is absolutely adorable.

Ingo, the Maoilinois Belgian shepherd, became owlet Poldi's protector early on in life. Unfortunately, Poldi is no longer with us, but his life was filled with loving friendship. Ingo now has  a new owl friend, Ronja, and their friendship is a strong as can be.
